INCLUSION

  • Pick-up & see-off minibus from your hotel inside Hanoi Old quarter. A surcharge of US$ 5 per person is added in case pick-up & see-off outside Hanoi Old quarter. If you stay outside of the area and donot want to pay the surcharge, please be present at Hanoi Grand Opera House at 8:15 am, the tour guide and bus driver will call at to pick-you-up.
  • English speaking tour guide throughout the tour. A surcharge of US$ 15 per person is added in case you need 1 French speaking guide.
  • 1 Lunch at a local restaurant in Son Tay town.
  • Admission fees to sightseeing places.

Duong Lam village tour ancient house

Visit an ancient house and taste “Tuong ban” soya-paste with “Rau Muong” morning-glory, the 2 most popular dishes in a Vietnamese lunch table is a special highlight of this tour. The soya-paste is brewed in the ceramic vase under the sunshine in about 3 months before local people use it.

Tour itinerary

TOUR PROGRAM

At 8 – 8:30 am, our tour guide and minibus pick you up at your hotel inside Hanoi Old quarter then transfer to Duong Lam ancient village, 50km away from Hanoi. Stopover on the way to visit Son Dong traditional handicraft village.

Arrive at Duong Lam, the village with a history of about 1,200 years with many houses dating back up to 400 years.  Visit village gate which is the symbol of a North Vietnam rural village. Visit Mong Phu communal house and know about its featured architecture. You also visit some ancient houses and enjoy local products as rice wine, rice cake … with host.

Go around the village to visit some cultural and historical vestiges in Duong Lam such as Giang Van Minh worship-house, Princess Mia Palace and Temple, Mia pagoda.

End of Duong Lam village tour and enjoy lunch at the Hoa Sua restaurant near from Son Tay city. Free time before you visit Son Tay ancient citadel, which was the base of military of the Nguyen Dynasty against the French Colonial army in the 1870-1880.

Minibus transfer back to Hanoi, stopover on the way to visit Tay Phuong pagoda – the best example of old typical pagoda in the northern of Vietnam.

Visit Van Phuc silk village in the West of Hanoi. Experience the process of making silk from beginning to end, and the making of conical hats, touch Van Phuc silk which is used for Vietnam garment and textiles and even for making your clothes.

You’re transferred back to Hanoi Old quarter. Say goodbye to tour guide at your hotel. End of services.

BEFORE TOUR

Please remember to take with you: long clothes for visiting temples and pagodas, umbrella/ cap, camera, bottled water.

AFTER TOUR

Just stroll around Hang Ngang street, Hang Dao street, Hang Gai street, you can buy silk products made by Van Phuc villagers.

Don’t forget to taste the soya paste made by Duong Lam villagers. Soya paste is a typical sauce of North Vietnam rural villages used with “rau muong” vegetable and “nem” spring-rolls.
