Ban Gioc waterfall

Ban Gioc is the World’s 4th largest waterfall on the national border after Iguazu (Brasil – Argentina), Victoria (Zambia – Zimbabwe), Niagara (Canada – USA). Despite the sovereignty dispute between Vietnam and China about which country Ban Gioc waterfall belongs to, both country name this waterfall as their premium landscape. In 2005, CCTV China listed it in Top Ten wonderful falls of China. Vietnam has topped it as the largest natural fall of South East Asia and will inaugurate a 4-star resort in Ban Gioc in 2014.

MAYBE YOU DON’T KNOW

Ban Gioc waterfall is currently the 4th largest waterfall along a national border, after Iguazu Falls, Victoria Falls, and Niagara Falls.

Ba Be lake is the biggest natural lake of Vietnam, 1 of the 4 RAMSAR sites of Vietnam, 1 of 20 world’s largest lakes.

The best time to visit Ba Be lake is during the dry season (from September to April). In the wet season, the lake takes up water from the Nang River and regularly flooded. If travel at the time of Long Tong Festival on the 10th and 11th days of the first Lunar month, there are traditional games and performance of surrounding ethnic tribal groups.

This tour has it all ! Not too much time for transfer like overnight trains to Sapa. As you see, each day is a combination between halfday transfer through mountains, high passes and halfday visiting. Each day you can intermingle with hilltribes and experience their lifestyles. Restaurants are abundant in towns so we remove lunch and dinner in Cao Bang. In contrast, meals in homestay in Ba Be are inclusive.
