For easy cycle, you can join our Daily Cycling Group in Hanoi (code CGT07S) to find out another aspect of Hanoi, a serene West Lake strange from the bustle streets of Hanoi Old quarter. In 3 hours, you will be cycling around the lake with many photo stops at Lotus ponds, Tran Quoc pagoda and Temple of Mother Goddess. See the contrast picture when skyscrapers and worldclass resorts standing next to the ancient pagodas and temples. Sit down in some lakeside stalls to enjoy “pho cuon” beef-noodle-rolls, some hot-steamed snails and taste “bun rieu cua” hot crab soft-noodles the most favourite flavour of Hanoians living around the lake. During May – June, you can sit among the lotus ponds to smell the scent of Lotus tea refined from each drop of water.
For medium and hard cycle, we’d like to draw your attention to the 10-day cycling tour from Hanoi to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city – code CPK08). We’ve received many request for this during the last 3 years. We guess why our clients ask about the cycling route because it was voted by Lonely Planet experts as Top Ten World’s most beautiful cycling routes. You can find out this article issued in 2012. The cycling route runs along the Eastern Sea, a part of Pacific Ocean (please forget the phrase “South China Sea” as Reuters and BBC usually name it). The cyclist will experience different terrains as plain, mountains, sandy trails and get by many wild beaches and handicraft villages. The bikes are also printing the wheels on the steps of Vietnam history. As indicated in the tour page, you will visit Thang Long Royal Citadel, Hoa Lu ancient capital, Hai Van Ocean Cloud Pass separating North and South Vietnam, My Lai the most famous massacre during Vietnam War, War Remnants Museum in Saigon. Especially, the main road you cycle is National Road 1A, which used to be the Mandarin road during feudal times and the only road all Vietnamese (even kings) at least 1 time go on. This is a road of history ! 4 UNESCO World Heritages are included: Thang Long Royal Citadel, Hue Imperial city, Hoi An Old town, some Champa towers in Central Vietnam.
Our idea to design this cycling tour CPK08 is combining between cycling days and leisure in beaches or tranquil countryside. You can see the hotel lists with many beachside hotels and a countryside resort in Ninh Binh. They’re 3-star hotel but placed among beautiful settings, cozy design. In city hubs, we choose ideally located hotels as First Eden Hanoi (300m from West Lake – Cityview room) and Elios hotel Saigon (500m from Ben Thanh market – Cityview room) so that the client can get to entertainment, bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Cycling is safe and not tired. We note most clients can cycle 50km/ day but the distance Hanoi – Saigon is 1,900km hence we propose some local transport to shorten the cycle. Overnight train with soft-sleepers shortens the transfer Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Hue, the local superior bus Mai Linh Express (with guide escorting) is opted for Hoi An – Quang Ngai – Quy Nhon. Accordingly, the cycling distance varies from 30km to 120km and we’re sure our cyclist won’t cycle day-by-day and won’t feel tired. We’re NOT always on the road, and the roads are usually getting stuck with traffic jams. In some long cycle, we will arrange private technician to support you. Private back-up van is also provided either to transfer the substitued bikes, or transfer cyclists. If you feel tired, you can stop cycling, and this back-up van is for your muscle relief. Cycling is for fun, not for tiredness.
Last but not least, in all Cambodia & Vietnam cycling tours, we will buy insurance for cyclists. Once the damage or injury occurs, the compensation is from VND 20,000,000 (~ US$ 1,000) per person. In most cases, we can cover all hospital treatment fees in 5 days and pay the airfare difference if you have to delay your flight due to the injury. Traveling with us and your tour is insured.
