Street-food and Easy-cycle, why not ? Join our activity to find out another image of Hanoi apart from narrow streets, horny motors and touristic Old quarter.
Hanoi is a green city of 60 lakes and West Lake is the largest one. Just 2km from Hanoi Old quarter, it’s indeed another world ! In 3 hours, you will be cycling around the lake with many photo stops at Lotus ponds, Tran Quoc pagoda and Temple of Mother Goddess. See the contrast picture when skyscrapers and worldclass resorts standing next to the ancient pagodas and temples. Sit down in some lakeside stalls to enjoy “pho cuon” beef-noodle-rolls, some hot-steamed snails and taste “bun rieu cua” hot crab soft-noodles the most favourite flavour of Hanoians living around the lake. During May – June, you can sit among the lotus ponds to smell the scent of Lotus tea refined from each drop of water.

West Lake is a popular spot for Hanoians doing morning excercises. Cycling is 1 of the preferable outdoor activities.

HANOI STREET FOOD TOUR ON PEDAL DETAIL
Our tour guide and taxi driver pick you up from your hotel lobby to West Lake (2km from Hanoi Old quarter). Visit Tran Quoc pagoda the oldest pagoda of Hanoi since the 5th century. Our tour guide will tell you about Hanoi history via the formation of West Lake.
Take over the private bikes and start cycling with our guide. The 2-wheel journey rides you from Tran Quoc pagoda to get around the lake in clockwise. If the excursion is in the morning, you can enjoy the tranquility of the lake when all Hanoians are in their working hours. If the excursion is in the afternoon, you can immerse yourselves among the bustling local life when all people are riding back home after working hours. Stop to visit 1 of the famous pagodas/temples (Vong Thi, or Tao Sach, or Temple of Mother Goddess), visit 1 of the lotus ponds during their blooming months of May – July.

There are many Lotus ponds in the Northwest of West Lake, near from Tao Sach pagoda. You will visit 1 of them and enjoy Lotus tea/Jasmine tea if the excursion is in the blooming time of Lotus flower of May – June.
Enjoy Vietnamese Lotus tea, or Jasmine tea in a rattan tent among the lotus pond, or Vietnamese Robusta coffee in a lakeside coffee shop with the nice view surroundings.
Enjoy Vietnamese hot-steamed snails and “bun rieu cua” hot-crab soft-noodles in a local restaurant near from Temple of Mother Goddess. The restaurant is next to the lotus ponds. Taste some favourite snacks of “pho cuon” beef-noodle-rolls.
The excursion offers cyclists a lot of photo chances. You can capture the moment of a fresh Morning (8.30 – 11.00 late May – early July) for lotus blooming photos, or Afternoon (15.00 – 17.30) for sunset down on the lake. You also see Starwoods or Intercontinental hotels standing next to serene pagodas, a rare contrast image you don’t see in any Asian capitals.
Stop at Tran Quoc pagoda to end our roundtrip around West Lake. End of your tour at your hotel.

Electric car around West Lake is a good substitution if you hesitate cycling. We will advise you case-by-case if only you use private electric car while other bookers still prefer cycling.
NOTES
For who don’t prefer cycling, we will replace cycling by electric car “Green Tourism” (max 6 passengers/ 1 electric car) in 2 hours at the surcharge of US$ 10/ person.
All bookings must be made 12 hours before departure. Please inform us of your height which is for us to arrange the suitable bike for each of you. Also provide us your phone if possible we contact you in urgent case.
We only pick up guests in the hotels in Hoan Kiem district, Ba Dinh district and Tay Ho district. For the guests who stay out of the 3 districts, please go to Tran Quoc pagoda, our meeting point by yourselves. Because we’re joining a group, we want to collect all of you on time at 9am or 3pm to guarantee our departure on time accordingly.
The bikes are usually Specialized Hardrock Sport, a brand of MBT USA, and imported from USA. Sometimes we use Giant or Trek bikes as back-up. All the bikes are equipped with Shimano Acera gear with 3 shifters and 9 derailleurs, Suntour antitramp assuring to ride the bikes on different terrain. All bikes are mantained and repaired under the standards of MBT USA.
